A belt press is a continuous solid-liquid separation equipment that uses filter cloth belts to squeeze and dewater materials such as sludge and slurry. It removes moisture from materials through mechanical pressure, ultimately producing cake with low moisture content. The equipment usually consists of a frame, filter belts, a driving device, squeeze rollers, a deviation correction device, a cleaning device, etc. It features high automation, can operate continuously, and is suitable for large-scale material dewatering.

Working Principle

The working process of a belt press mainly includes three stages:

1. Pretreatment stage: The sludge or slurry to be treated first undergoes a flocculation reaction, where tiny particles agglomerate into larger flocs to improve dewatering efficiency.

2. Gravity dewatering stage: The flocculated materials are evenly distributed on the filter belt. Under the action of gravity, most of the free water seeps through the filter cloth and is discharged.

3. Squeeze dewatering stage: The materials enter the squeezing area composed of multiple squeeze rollers along with the filter belt. Through the tension of the filter belt and the pressure of the squeeze rollers, the moisture in the materials is further squeezed out, and finally, cake is formed and discharged by the unloading device.
